Andra Day arrived at the 55th NAACP Image Awards at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on Saturday in Los Angeles wearing a striking monochromatic look in a cobalt blue colorway from Naeem Khan’s fall 2023 collection.
The singer walked the show’s red carpet in an eye-catching look that featured a vibrant beaded dress and matching accessories. Day’s gown was crafted with a one-shoulder neckline and thigh-high slit. The star replicated how the look was originally styled on the runway with a floor-length ostrich feather cape in the same bold blue shade. Additionally, Day added a pair of elbow-length satin gloves in a similar hue.
Naeem Khan’s fall 2023 collection incorporated feathers, ruffles, appliqués and beading into several other colorful designs.
Day kept her long dark tresses styled in an updo and paired the hairstyle with a bold makeup look that used dark smoked-out shading around her eyes. For her shoes, the star added a pop of color with sparkling lavender peep-toe heels.
Day is typically styled by Wouri Vice, who has worked with the star on several other occasions, including her sequined two-piece set from Georges Hobeika for the 2024 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Award Ceremony, and her black cutout dress from Azzi & Osta for the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
The 2024 NAACP Image Awards honor the accomplishments of Black creatives in film, television and music. Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony and winners were announced prior to the show’s air date. This year’s honorees include Usher, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, June Ambrose and Ciara.
