Acne Studios has named Hendrik Bitterschulte its new chief financial officer, WWD has learned.
The executive joins the Swedish fashion house’s global leadership team from elite pen and accessories maker Montblanc. He starts on May 2 and reports to Mattias Magnusson, chief executive officer of Acne Studios.
Disclosing the appointment exclusively to WWD, Acne Studios said Bitterschulte would be responsible for “all financial matters of the group and its international subsidiaries, as well as all legal matters.”
He succeeds Andreas Wigzell, who had been in the role for 10 years.
“Hendrik brings tremendous experience and joins at an exciting time for Acne Studios, as we are growing our international footprint and introducing new product categories,” Magnusson said in a statement.
For example, the Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle fragrance, the brand’s first perfume, is due out April 17, as reported.
For eight years, Bitterschulte has served as CFO of Montblanc International GmbH, where he was also a member of its executive board. Headquartered in Hamburg, Montblanc is part of Swiss luxury conglomerate Compagnie Financière Richemont.
Before that, he held various positions within German coffee firm Tchibo Group for a decade, where he assumed increasing responsibilities in finance, operations and sales.
He started his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. Bitterschulte received an M.A. in business administration from the FHDW University of Applied Sciences in Paderborn, Germany.
Bitterschulte’s successor at Montblanc has yet to be named.
