Promise Project’s annual spring fundraiser, “Beautiful Promise,” will take place May 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 123 West 18th Street in New York.
This year, Promise Project will honor Assemblyman Robert Carroll, the leading literacy advocate in the New York State Legislature. Once again, emcee WABC-TV’s Bill Ritter will oversee the evening’s festivities, which include opportunities to bid on auction items, with proceeds benefiting Promise Project.
Among the highlights of the silent auction are shopping sprees at Lafayette 148 and Alice + Olivia, and handbags and accessories from such brands as Frances Valentine, Stella McCartney, Lafont, Monica Rich Kosann and Alex Bittar. Charitybuzz will auction tickets to the New York City Ballet, among other items.
Dana Buchman, founder of Promise Project, said, “For over 15 years, Promise Project has been providing underserved children with learning issues a chance at an education. By offering assessments that pinpoint a child’s learning style, schools can make sure all kids have an opportunity to learn. We level the playing field in New York City.”
Promise Project, in collaboration with Columbia University Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital, is New York City’s most effective and comprehensive program committed to helping marginalized families get the support they need for children living with learning disabilities.
