For more than three decades, Tommy Bahama has been doing its best to make life one long weekend — its mission statement — for its customers by celebrating its relaxed beachside aesthetic. Its branded beach chairs have become commonplace for relaxing oceanfront across the country, so it makes perfect sense that the company would now branch out into paddleboards and kayaks.

Thanks to a new licensing agreement with Isle Surf & SUP, fans of the brand can own their own Tommy Bahama-branded hybrid standup paddleboard-kayak boards, complemented with limited-edition waterproof bags.

Isle has become known for its ingenuity in hybrid watercraft design, allowing users to customize their paddle preference between SUPs and kayaks through its proprietary Isle-Link connect system.

“For over 30 years, Tommy Bahama has invited everyone to enjoy the island-inspired lifestyle where and how they live,” said Gina Wilcox, vice president of licensing for Tommy Bahama. “Having fun in the sun is a huge part of that lifestyle. These hybrid SUP-kayak boards and waterproof bags bring the ultimate in outdoor fun. We’re excited to partner with Isle to further define our lifestyle brand and offer our guests a fresh chance to embrace our brand and embark on exciting water adventures.”

The Tommy Bahama collection includes two models: an 11-foot, 6-inch limited-edition Switch 3 inflatable hybrid SUP-kayak that retails for $895 that will be available in two colorways. The Isle-Link connect system allows paddlers to seamlessly convert from SUP to solo or tandem kayak in or out of the water and the board offers PowerFuse welded rail technology which eliminates leakage.

The second model is a 15-foot Tommy Bahama Megalodon 3, Isle’s largest inflatable, multiperson paddle board that retails for $1,195. This model also comes equipped with the Isle-Link connect and PowerFuse as well as a full-length deck pack. It also has a electric motor mount system if paddling becomes too arduous.

“The Switch and Megalodon 3 models are thoughtfully designed with a focus on innovation and versatility,” said Jimmy Blakeney, vice president of product at Isle. “Paddlers can customize and configure their set-up for the best experience possible — whether that be by standup paddleboarding, kayaking or electric-assist steering.”

The boards and bags will launch in July on the Isle and Tommy Bahama websites as well as at select outdoor retailers in the U.S.
