Ian Charms is bringing its playful, Y2K-inspired design ethos to a new category.
The Los Angeles-based jewelry company is teaming up with Australian eyewear brand Le Specs for a five-piece sunglasses collection that fuses Ian Charms whimsical designs with Le Specs’ craftsmanship.
“It’s been a dream of mine to expand into other accessories and categories, and it was important to do it with a brand that let me do my thing, no restrictions, no rules,” said Lisa Sahakian, founder of Ian Charms. “Le Specs let me dream huge.”
The collection’s sunglasses are all designed in bright colors and embellished with charms, star motifs and pearls similar to what Sahakian uses in her jewelry, and all have kitschy names.
Styles include the “Nepo Baby,” a shield style with a large star embellishment on the temples, and “I Am a Rich Man,” a futuristic shield style that comes in light blue and brown tortoise shell.
There’s also the “Free Lawyer” rectangular sunglasses that are embellished with colorful bead-like decals on the temples, and the “Daddy’s Girl” cat-eye sunglasses, which are designed with a thin metal frame and are adorned with a teardrop-shaped pearl fastened to the temple.
The collection is rounded out by the “51% Angel” wraparound sunglasses, which feature a “devilish cherub” on the temples. Styles are all sold with a sunglasses case designed to resemble a classic car silhouette, as well as a blue fluffy pouch. The collection’s campaign is also fronted by “Euphoria” actress Chloe Cherry.
This is Ian Charms’ first collaboration in the fashion world. Sahakian founded the brand in 2020 and has grown it to become a favorite of celebrities like Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Emma Chamberlain, Sophie Turner and others.
The Ian Charms x Le Specs collaboration will be available on both brands’ websites. The sunglasses each retail for $145.
