Carbone, a downtown pier with East River views, a buzzy singer from the Brooklyn indie scene: leave it to French brand Hermès to craft a quintessential New York night out. On Thursday evening, the brand debuted part two of its fall collection with a runway show at Pier 36, and kept the vibe going afterward with an after party held in the same space. The setting, coined “Hermès Manhattan Rocabar” for the evening, was bathed in orange, red, and yellow lighting as the VIP crowd roamed from the front row.

Usher lingered near his seat after the show, chatting with Camila Alves McConaughey and her daughter Vida. It was also a family night out for Nicky Hilton Rothschild and mother Kathy Hilton, who made their way around the room. Hermès creative director Nadège Vanhée was also making the rounds, catching up with the guests including Rebecca Hall and Morgan Spector and Lily Allen, who toted a Birkin with a collection of keychain accoutrements that included an Anya Hindmarch Nurofen charm. Other guests included Jenny Slate and Thierra Whack.

One side of the room was serving Carbone pasta, and the other offered a fully stocked raw bar with oysters, shrimp, lobster and an endless tin of caviar. Outside, guests crowded a seating area overlooking Dumbo across the river.

Back inside, Caroline Polachek, in a full red leather Hermès look, took her place behind the microphone stand on the “Hermès Manhattan Rocabar” stage. “Come on closer,” she urged after performing her first song, bringing Vida McConaughey, Timo Weiland and Leigh Lezark to the front of the stage, as fans (of the wind variety) blew on her from either side. Afterwards, Honey Dijon closed out the evening with a DJ set, bringing the night’s MVPs — the show models — onto the dance floor.
