While some of us are still holding onto our bikinis and sunscreen bottles with a grip tighter than a Skim’s bodysuit, others have decided to fully embrace the fact that fall is just around the corner. Whether it’s daydreaming about Halloween costumes, taking out our sweaters from storage, or picking out our next fall-themed manicure, some of us are ready to say goodbye to sweating through our shirts all day.

No matter where your thoughts land on the matter, chances are high that you’re going to be obsessed with the nail trend that’s poised to take over your social media feeds this season. Say hello to the unofficial shade of fall: maple-syrup nails. The manicure was just spotted on Hailey Bieber, and as any beauty lover knows by now, when Bieber sports a new nail color, people pay attention.

Bieber first shared a peek at her new nails on her Instagram Story on Sept. 4, and she also shared a close-up of the look in a post on her beauty brand Rhode’s Instagram feed. “She wanted a jellish dark brown color to switch out to fall colors because we’ve been doing light summer colors lately,” Zola Ganzorgit, the celebrity nail artist responsible for Bieber’s maple-syrup look, tells PS.

So far this summer, we’ve seen Bieber sporting “fruit-salad” nails, a few takes on the glazed manicure trend, and even some fun floral looks.

But what makes maple-syrup nails different from your run-of-the-mill brown manicure? It’s all in the tone. Rather than a muted or matte brown, the look is very jelly-like. “Most of the time, we mix colors to create the color she wants,” Ganzorigt says. This time around, they mixed five different shades to achieve the perfect maple-syrup hue.

If you want to get the look at home, Ganzorigt says you can opt to mix a jelly brown color or a dark chocolate brown to create a semi-jelly look. For this trend, we love the Gaoy Jelly Brown Gel Nail Polish Set ($13), which comes with six different jelly shades that are perfect for fall. You can also achieve the look by using OPI GelColor in Material Gworl ($21) and mixing it with the OPI GelColor Super Gloss Top Coat ($25), which will give the entire manicure a jelly-like appearance.
