Malia Obama embraced the tartan trend for fall at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Deauville American Film Festival in France on Friday.
The daughter of President Barack Obama walked the red carpet in an off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood ensemble featuring two colorful prints. Her look consisted of a draped corset and a high-low maxiskirt. The Harvard University alum accessorized with black leather knee-high boots Coperni.
Meredith Koop, stylist to Malia’s mother, former first lady Michelle Obama, dressed her for the occasion.

But remember there are still so many people who are desperate for a different outcome,” Michelle said in her speech, referring to the ongoing presidential race. “So no matter how good we feel tonight or tomorrow or the next day this is going to be an uphill battle. This is up to us, all of us, to be the solution that we seek. It’s up to us to remember what Kamala’s mother told her: ‘Don’t just sit around and complain. Do something.’”
