After completing chemotherapy, Kate Middleton plans on continuing her royal duties. Kensington Palace released a new video on social media on Monday, sharing an update on the Princess of Wales‘ health. Middleton originally announced her cancer diagnosis in March.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” Middleton said in a short directed by Will Warr. “Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.”

The video depicts Middleton with her husband, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as they wander through a forest. Middleton wears a floral midi dress by Veronica Beard, which features a ruffled hemline and button fastenings.
“Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” the Princess of Wales continued. “I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
Middleton also thanked the public for their support throughout her cancer battle, sharing her own words of advice for those who are affected by the disease.
“Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling,” she added. “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey — I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
In June, Middleton made her first public appearance following the announcement of her cancer diagnosis, appearing alongside her family at Trooping the Colour.
The following month, the Princess attended the Wimbledon men’s final, where she presented Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz with a trophy. For the occasion, Middleton selected a purple Safiyaa dress, accessorizing with a plaid bowtie pin — a nod to her patronage of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, a title she’s held since 2016.
