Dior has landed on the coast of Mexico.
The French luxury house unveils a new boutique in Cancún, the tropical holiday destination on the Yucatán Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea.
Located at the La Isla shopping mall, the open-air complex, the store’s facade showcases its “cannage” design motif with a white stone finish as backdrop.
Inside, with two levels and Versailles parquet flooring throughout, a winding staircase acts as the pièce de résistance at the center, inspired by the existing design found in Dior’s Paris shop at 30 Avenue Montaigne. A gallery-like display of mannequins clad in white surround the structure, which also features works by Mexican multidisciplinary artist Carlos Amorales.
The collections in the boutique are highly curated, according to the brand. Women mannequins as imagined by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri are seen in the front entrance, with areas dedicated to ready-to-wear, accessories such as bags, small leather goods, shoes and jewelry.
