The spring 2025 fashion collections that were recently displayed in Paris made up a season of contrasts. That went, as well, for the beauty looks accompanying them down the runways. Eye embellishments, for one, percolated on many a catwalk.
For Dior, Peter Philips, creative and image director for the brand’s makeup, had in mind a modern-day Amazon.
“I wanted to create the makeup look of an active and dynamic woman, on the move, who has just completed some physical activity,” he said in a statement. “Her skin is bright and dewy, and her gaze is intense, highlighted by the remnants of a stroke of kohl liner.

“To create the effect of makeup displaced by physical exertion, I [drew] a strong line along the lower lash line with the Diorshow On Stage Crayon 099 Black, which I [smudged and blended] under the eyes,” he continued.
At Loewe, makeup artist Pat McGrath crafted a range of gold and silver accents swept atop a number of models’ peepers. Those color cosmetics details echoed the metallic elements found in the brand’s garments.
“We’re having fun creating these modern metallic looks using shades from our Luminous Legends [collection],” she said in a statement, explaining they began with hues of Golden Muse or Lunar Luxury from her eponymous makeup brand. Those were then layered with loose glitter.
“These shadows are the most pigmented yet,” continued McGrath.
Creative eye looks were also spotted at the shows for Alexander McQueen, Dries Van Noten, Germanier, Ganni, Issey Miyake, Lutz Huelle, Mame Kurogouchi, Rochas, Yohji Yamamoto and Zomer in Paris.
