Princess Charlene of Monaco put her stamp on winter dressing at a holiday event this Saturday. The royal wore an edgy take on a vest and turtleneck for the annual lighting of the Place of Casino in Monte-Carlo.
Princess Charlene combined a black turtleneck with a black elongated vest consisting of cutouts forming a vertical pattern, and an oversized bottom lapel. She wore the vest, fastened at the waist, with large diamond earrings and a wavy updo. She also wore a burgundy manicure in a shade that’s been trending for fall.
Merlot, mahogany, bordeaux, and burgundy were all staples on the runway for fall 2024, where they were represented with red bags from Chanel, Ferragamo, Dries Van Noten, and Louis Vuitton. Labels such as Bottega Veneta, Ferragamo, Victoria Beckham, and Issey Miyake also put forth interpretations of red and all of its variants on the runway for fall 2024. Not to mention, red was one of the breakout trends at the recent Deadline’s 2024 Contenders Film: Los Angeles and at this year’s MTV VMAs.

The royal recently stepped out in an edgy take on a sparkly gown at the World Rugby Awards in Monaco last Sunday. Before that, in mid-November, Princess Charlene embraced her sporty side at the “No Finish Line” race in jogger pants, a T-shirt with a red logo and a matching red windbreaker with emblems for the charity embossed on the breast and sleeve.
