Heidi Klum is set to return as host of “Project Runway” for its 21st season, marking her comeback to the fashion competition show after departing in 2018 to host Prime’s “Making the Cut.” The upcoming season will air on Disney’s Freeform network, with episodes available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. The new season will have 10 episodes and is scheduled to premiere later this year.

Klum previously hosted the show for 16 years, starting from its debut on Bravo in 2004.

Throughout 20 seasons, “Project Runway” has captivated viewers with its behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to create a memorable fashion moment from start to finish. Since its debut in 2004, the popular competition reality show, which has aired on Bravo and Lifetime, has put both up-and-coming and more established designers through a series of unique challenges — from using unconventional materials to creating custom looks for real-life clients — in order to test their technical prowess, creativity and ability to be forward-thinking.

Over the years, the finalists then got the opportunity to conceive and present a full collection during New York Fashion Week. The winners are awarded a cash prize to help fund their brand, as well as other perks such as cars, mentorships, editorial coverage in major fashion magazines and equipment for their studios.

Beyond a fashion spectacle, “Project Runway’s” contestants have also kept audiences entertained with their workroom antics and compelling personal stories. Many have gone on to make their mark in the industry by launching their own labels, dressing stars and doing high-profile collaborations.
