What Are Dollop Bangs?
The limit does not exist when it comes to the ways you can cut dollop bangs, but hairstylist Devin Toth describes this style as the perfect modern, unique twist on a classic kiss curl. Think: a lock (or chunk) of hair that sweeps downward in a crescent-like shape over the forehead.
“[It’s] a style of fringe where the bangs are cut and styled with a rounded shape that lifts slightly away from the forehead, resembling a dollop of whipped cream or mousse,” Ogleetree says. “They’re not flat, blunt, or overly thick but instead maintain a sense of fullness and lightness. This gives a fun, retro-inspired vibe.”
What’s even better is that this style of bangs doesn’t always require you to cut a huge chunk of hair – so it’s great for any chop-shy folks out there. You can choose to style a larger chunk of hair for dollop bangs reminiscent of celebs like Kim Kardashian and Camille Razat or just a few strands a lá Julia Fox.
How to Achieve Dollop Bangs
As always, we recommend seeing a professional hairstylist for a new chop of any kind. In order to achieve the dollop bangs look, you’ll definitely want to show up to your appointment with a few inspo photos in hand. This will give your stylist a better idea of the specific type of dollop bangs you want. Toth says you can either ask for a regular bang and then style it into a kiss curl or ask them to cut a small section of hair and not a whole bang. “It can be narrow or wide, long or short, thick or layered,” says Toth. “I recommend a subtle angle to help guide, induce, and compel the swoop. Bring in a picture and explain how much of your forehead you would like concealed or covered by your bang.”
Ogletree also shared a few tips if you’d rather keep your dollop bangs subtle. First, he says to start with a light, layered approach. “The goal is to keep the bangs long enough to blend seamlessly into the rest of the hair while maintaining a defined front section,” he says. “Styling is key to achieving that perfect shape!”

Celebrities switch up their style of dollop bangs at the drop of a hat – and so can you. Toth knows a few foolproof styling steps for dollop bangs. Second, he recommends applying a product with hold, like
Ogletree also says that the right products are absolutely key when styling dollop bangs: “To recreate something similar to Camille Razat’s style, you’ll need shine, hold, and a glossy finish,” he says. “I recommend using
