The viral mini tote bag from Trader Joe’s is back on shelves in brand new Easter-inspired colors. The national grocery store chain is currently restocking the totes, which will be available for a limited time in pastel shades of blue, pink, purple and green.
The popular bag, originally priced at $2.99 in stores, is being resold on eBay for more than $1,000. One listing features the pastel pink bag for $1,100, while shoppers can also find a set of four bags being offered for up to $500.
To WWD, Nakia Rohde, public relations manager of Trader Joe’s, stated that the company neither condones nor supports the reselling of our products, but is doing “what they can to stop the practice.”

According to the company, the date the totes will be available in each Trader Joe’s will vary, but shoppers are already lining up at different store locations that have already received the bags.
“Our stores receive deliveries daily, and they can be restocked daily for as long as they are available. Each store sets its own merchandising plan. If customers have any questions about product availability, they can ask any crew member in their neighborhood store,” Rohde said.
The mini tote bags were first released in the shades of blue, yellow, red and green in February 2024, quickly disappearing from the shelves after going viral on social media. In September 2024, the company restocked the viral totes that notably resemble L.L. Bean’s tote bags.
Trader Joe’s has a longstanding tradition of offering reusable canvas shopping bags, which began in 1977. The mini tote bags measure 13 inches in length, 11 inches in height and 6 inches in width. They are made from a blend of 65 percent cotton and 35 percent polyester, similar to the company’s larger canvas bags.
