Taraji P. Henson delivered a sculptural moment on Monday at the Netflix STRAW Tastemaker Dinner, hosted at Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi in New York City. The Emmy-winning actress arrived in a slate-hued, asymmetrical jumpsuit punctuated by plush accents, completing the look with lace-up Alexandre Birman sandals.
For the occasion, Henson opted for the Zaya 100 heeled sandal in dark brown. Crafted from soft nappa leather, it featured an intricate lace-up ankle wrap and a leaf-pointed toe. The standout detail of the shoe — a cluster of wooden, gold and bronze beads, accented with silver studs across the toe strap – is a nod to Birman’s Brazilian heritage, where artisanal craftsmanship and cultural influences inspire his aesthetic.
Henson’s crepe jumpsuit featured a single off-shoulder neckline and a belted, cinched waist. The straight-leg trousers stopped just above the ankle, letting the sandals take the stage. Black feather plumes at each cuff extended past the wrists, introducing movement against the garment’s clean lines.
