It’s been less than two weeks since images emerged of a new sneaker loafer hybrid from Nike, Inc.’s Jordan Brand. The part-loafer, part-mule Air Jordan marks the label’s first foray into the “snoafer” trend, but now we’re learning Nike has yet another version of the viral footwear mash-up set to be released soon.
Nike’s upcoming sneaker loafer was designed in tandem with the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC), a group of apprentice designers who, since 2019, have partnered with the tennis legend and the Beaverton, Ore.-based sportswear brand to create special-edition product.

The collective’s latest offering is the Nike Air Max Phenomena, a new sneaker loafer which builds on the base of the Nike Air Max SNDR (Sunder) for a look that is both on-trend and still rooted in the sportswear brand’s DNA.
Right above what would be the mudguard area on a traditional Air Max SNDR, the Air Max Phenomena breaks the model up with a tumbled leather loafer upper complete with a heel tab for easy entry. The shoe’s midfoot band is adorned with a small metallic silver Swoosh logo and the aforementioned mudguard features a reflective treatment, which along with the visible Air cushioning results in a happy medium of formal and sporty.
Similar to Williams’ previous SWDC Air Force 1 Low release from February, this upcoming Air Max sneaker loafer features Miami-inspired “305” on the heel pulls and right insole, though the connection between the city and this upcoming pair aren’t immediately clear.
First shared by Atmos creative director Hirofumi Kojima with the caption “coming soon,” official product images of the Nike Air Max Phenomena SWDC have now surfaced, which affirms that the new pair will indeed be released soon. Retail pricing has not been confirmed, but the style pictured here has a full colorway of Black/Metallic Silver and a SKU of HJ4400-002.
