Boulder opals from Australia are also included in the design of Mimi So’s necklace, featuring 18-karat gold.

“I designed these necklaces with a modern take on wearing art, splashes of paint color,” So told WWD. The pieces are available to order through the designer’s website, mimiso.com.

Carey’s new necklaces coincide with the release of her forthcoming 16th studio album, “Here for It All,” which will be released on Sept. 26. The singer tapped Mimi So, who collaborated with Carey’s stylist to craft the necklaces, to visually echo the vibrant themes and vibe of Carey’s new album.

“She [Carey] is a major connoisseur of jewelry, and she found these to be a fresh take on luxury to celebrate her new album,” the designer said.
