It was patent leather for the summer and now, Nike’s timeless Air Force 1 sneaker is getting a fall-ready revision that’s completely covered in corduroy.
At least two upcoming Nike Air Force 1 Low styles will sport the cozy material across (almost) the entirety of their uppers. Both shoes in the set feature leather on their Swooshes and heels with nylon tongues, but the rest of the surface area is outfitted in a wide-wale corduroy material. Adding some stark contrast to both styles are white-on-white midsole and outsole combinations which are practically begging to be soiled by debris from leaves and acorns.
Coming in Baroque Brown (IM6533-200) and Washed Coral (IM6533-602) options, the only Air Force 1s we’ve seen that embody autumn more than these is an upcoming pair affixed with a leafy shroud. For those who are looking for something a bit more subtle, these upcoming corduroy versions should fit the bill.
Corduroy has long been used on classic Nike shoes, most memorably in its Air Max line. An Air Max 1 collaboration with Patta for the Amsterdam retailer’s fifth anniversary in 2009 is one of the more coveted examples. More recently, in 2018, Nike worked with Round Two founder Sean Wotherspoon on a hybrid Air Max 1/97 sneaker which ended up being one of the defining designs of its era.

Based on the patent leather pairs which eventually proliferated with multiple styles, these upcoming corduroy Air Force 1s are likely only the tip of the iceberg for the textured material.
Readers can expect both of the corduroy Nike Air Force 1 colorways pictured here to be released this holiday season exclusively in women’s sizing. The fall-friendly styles are set to retail at $125 apiece.
