Dua Lipa brought a high-shine edge to the streets of New York on Saturday in Tom Ford’s latest stiletto sandal.
Her pair featured glossy black patent leather straps with dual ankle buckles in pale gold. A slim vamp crossed the toes on a squared sole, balanced by a 105-millimeter tortoiseshell-effect stiletto. Ford’s signature “T” insignia marked the counter in matching gold. Priced at $1,850 in the fall collection, the calfskin style is lined in nude leather with a black logo-stamped sole and finished with a rubber tap for added grip.
The singer styled the sandals with more from the designer’s arsenal: a silk tank, belted leather biker pants, oversized square sunglasses and the brand’s Aube E/W shoulder bag. Tiffany & Co. jewelry punctuated the all-black palette.

For Lipa, the choice marks a departure from her boot-heavy summer rotation. She has leaned into biker silhouettes from Miu Miu and hardware-loaded Chrome Hearts Sugar Jones boots, while onstage she wore crystal-covered Christian Louboutins. At Sunny Hill Festival in August, she built her look around Miu Miu’s seven-buckle boots, doubling down on hardware. The Tom Ford sandals are a slimmer, more minimalist pivot but carry the same sense of statement.
Strappy stilettos are also dominating elsewhere throughout the summer, and it seems the trend is sticking around for fall. Margot Robbie chose a caged black Alaïa sandal at a Los Angeles photocall last month while Meagan Good has circled lace-up pairs from Jessica Rich and Alevì Milano in July. Their barely-there profiles continue to replace chunkier platforms on carpets and sidewalks alike.
Lipa’s look in New York underscored that shift. By swapping heavy hardware for delicate straps and a tortoiseshell heel, she reinforced the strappy sandal’s return as one of fall’s defining silhouettes.
