After a turn in elegant slingback pumps the other day, Mary J. Blige returned to her signature footwear style, a statement boot, for her trip to SiriusXM Studios in New York City on Thursday, and Gucci was her brand of choice.
Blige often wears thigh-high boots, and that was the case for her radio appearance, when she wore a patterned Gucci shoe with a shaft above the knee. A boldly patterned style, the shoes featured the luxury brand’s GG print all over, a diamond design in beige and brown with inverted Gs at each corner. The silhouette featured an almond toe and stacked block heel, while the shaft made a unique statement with cinching at the ankle, a general looseness up the leg and then a lace threaded through the circumference about three-quarters of the way up, knotted in a bow as a dainty embellishment.

Blige coordinated the shoes to a Gucci jacket, which also featured the label’s GG print, and the patterned items complemented a utilitarian khaki-colored ensemble, including belted pants and a top with pockets and a rolled-over neck. Her look was completed by amber-tinted aviator sunglasses, gold hoop earrings and a curly blond high ponytail.
This Gucci boot moment followed Blige, showcasing a slingback pump over the weekend. On Sunday in New York City at the Angel Ball hosted by Gabrielle’s Angel Fund, Blige styled a black lace version of Amina Muaddi’s Camelia style, which features an ornate octagonal crystal embellishment, with a dress from Tony Ward.
