Carey Mulligan turned to Prada for her strapless look at the 2025 British Independent Film Awards held in London on Sunday night.
The three-time Oscar-nominated actress kept her look sleek and simple, favoring a minimalist approach with a contrasting fabric element. The body of the gown by the Italian luxury fashion house featured an A-line silhouette and sinuous neckline.
With an exposed seam running down the front of the gown, the symmetry provided room for contrasting fabric, with sinuous lines at the waist and long, flowing material that gave the dress even more movement beyond the column dress.

As far as glam was concerned, the “Maestro” star continued her minimalist approach, with makeup highlights including bold brows, lined eyes and a glossy lip. Mulligan’s hair was chopped into a bob, among the resurgent hair trends for 2025.
The bob hair trend has seen a revival over the past several months. Noted as a fall 2025 hairstyle trend, bobs were popular on the 2025 Emmy Awards red carpet, and continue to be the ideal hairstyle for contemporary styling and minimalist looks à la Mulligan’s British Independent Film Awards attire.
Mulligan has a close relationship with Prada and recently served as the campaign star for the Italian luxury fashion house’s spring 2025 campaign, in which Mulligan takes on the three different characters captured in a photo spread by photographed by Steven Meisel.
