The open-toe style featured a single satin band, a round front profile and the brand’s signature pyramid heel, which rose in a stacked, geometric form beneath the brightly colored look. The satin finish carried a soft sheen in photos, marking a contrast to the textured fabrics above.

Her outfit combined a textured red cocoon skirt with a knit top trimmed in velvet at the neckline, both by Diotima Lorraine. The skirt’s dimensional surface created the dominant shape in the lineup, while the top’s darker trim offered a clean frame against the saturated palette. The mule’s lighter tone sat apart from the red base, introducing a second color story without disrupting the overall silhouette.

Jude’s Sky mule aligns with the sculptural heel vocabulary circulating across red carpets this season. Pyramid, block and other engineered heel shapes have been visible in recent directional footwear moments, including Thompson’s own. In London, she wore Saint Laurent’s Loulou pump with its curved gold-plated heel, and in Doha she appeared in Balenciaga’s white Duchess pump, which carries a tapered, engineered heel profile. She’s even worn Jude pumps, opting for a white pair at the 2025 WIF Honors Gala last month. The Sky mule extends that progression, adding a geometric heel to her recent series of structured silhouettes.

Jude’s presence in the look arrives as the label gains industry recognition. The Paris-based brand — founded by Jurgita Dileviciute and Denitsa Bumbarova — earned the FNAA Emerging Talent Award this year after rapid traction across red carpets and major retailers. The Sky mule joins the Fame pump and other core styles that have circulated among high-profile dressers throughout 2025.

Thompson attended the 8th annual Critics Choice Association Celebration of Black Cinema & Television, where she received the Actress Award – Film for her lead role in Nia DaCosta’s “Hedda.” The ceremony, hosted by Jay Pharoah at the Fairmont Century Plaza, also recognized the ensemble of “One Battle After Another” and honored Damson Idris with the Supporting Actor Award in Film for his work in Apple’s “F1.”
