Under Armour has worked hard to rack up some wins in recent years, but one unqualified success has been its No Weigh Backpack.
The redesigned pack was introduced in May after three years of research and development. On its earnings calls, the company has consistently pointed to the product as a top performer as well as an indicator of its ability to innovate.
The No Weigh Backpack features UA Suspension straps that stretch and redistribute weight across the shoulders and back, a newly designed system intended to reduce strain and minimize fatigue. The backpack retails for $140.

Now the company is extending the franchise into a duffel version. The UA No Weigh Duffel Backpack, which was tested by athletes in the company’s student program, Project Rampart, features the same suspension system as the original to redistribute weight and offer a lighter, more balanced feeling when in motion.
The duffel, which is being billed as a travel bag, will be available in three colorways: black, white and mint, and is being targeted to athletes and commuters. It has adjustable straps so it can be worn as a duffel, backpack or crossbody bag. There’s an expandable main compartment, organizational pockets, a laptop sleeve, luggage handles and UA Storm technology with coated zippers for weather protection.
“The No Weigh Duffel Backpack represents the next iteration in the No Weigh family, offering more storage and versatility coupled with that noticeably lighter and more comfortable carry,” said Tobiah Taylor, director of accessories at Under Armour. “The response to the No Weigh Backpack made it clear that athletes and on-the-go consumers want gear that feels lighter, performs smarter and moves naturally with them. Expanding our patent pending UA Suspension Strap technology into the UA No Weigh Duffel Backpack was a natural next step, allowing us to deliver the same breakthrough comfort with even more space and versatility. This is just the beginning for the No Weigh line.”
Kyle Blakely, senior vice president of innovation, testing and development at Under Armour, added that the technology offers benefits to everyone, not just athletes. “While we originally designed the UA Suspension Straps with athletes in mind, we recognize how this innovative system can reduce strain and enhance comfort for anyone on the move. Whether you’re navigating a busy commute, traveling or simply carrying your daily essentials, the No Weigh line is built to make your journey easier and more comfortable. We look forward to expanding this collection and exploring new ways our technology can improve everyday life.”
The duffel, which retails for $185, will be available beginning Thursday on the Under Armour website, its brand houses and at select retailers.
