Metallics, sequins and shiny embellishments stole the show at LACMA’s twelfth annual Art + Film Gala on Saturday night in Los Angeles, with stars like Paris Hilton, Salma Hayek and Jessica Chastain sporting sparkly garments.
As reported by WWD, metallics are one of this season’s top trends. Labels including Valentino, Fendi and Balenciaga, among others, sent sparkling capes, gowns and suits down the runway during their fall 2023 couture presentations. Naturally, the celebrity set is following suit.

Jessica Chastain
Chastain’s silver halter-neck Gucci column gown came adorned with beaded fringe. The actress also opted for accessories by the Italian label, which included chandelier earrings and a metallic chain strap purse baring the brand’s trademark horsebit.
Salma Hayek
Hayek’s rose gold Gucci frock featured gradient sequins and a short train. The actress accessorized with a silver handbag (also by Gucci) and asymmetrical Boucheron pink gold earrings embellished with diamonds.
Paris Hilton
Hilton sported a caftan-inspired dress featuring flowing sleeves and a bejeweled belt. Teal sequins and silver beading created mirrored pattern. The heiress also added on a pair of dazzling pumps.
Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum’s plunging Lever Couture frock was adorned with strands of silver tinsel. Nude PVC pumps topped off the supermodel’s shimmering ensemble.
Julia Garner
Garner’s Gucci gown featured an embellished halter top paired with a black slit skirt. The actress also added on slingback pumps and stud earrings by the Italian label.
Staged by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the 2023 LACMA Art + Film Gala celebrates painter Judy Baca and filmmaker David Fincher. The twelfth annual fete will be co-chaired by LACMA trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
