Matteo Mascazzini has been named chief executive officer of Giorgio Armani Corp., overseeing the Armani Group’s activities in the Americas. The move is effective immediately.
The post was most recently held by Izumi Sasano, who has returned to Japan with the Group. Sasano had been in the Americas post since 2023, having previously been CEO of Giorgio Armani Japan for nearly two decades.
For the past three years, Mascazzini has been president of Gucci Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before that, he was CEO of Geox, and previously spent 10 years at Gucci rising to senior vice president, chief operating officer of Gucci America. Earlier in his career, Mascazzini held various senior posts at Giorgio Armani for over 15 years. Among them were chief financial officer of Japan, chief executive officer of Australia and chief operating officer of the U.S.

Following Giorgio Armani’s death Sept. 4 at the age of 91, Giuseppe Marsocci was named to lead the Giorgio Armani Group in October, along with his simultaneous appointment to the board of directors. As CEO, he succeeded Armani, who was also chairman of the group he founded five decades ago.
Marsocci has more than 35 years of international experience in the fashion and luxury sector, 23 of which have been within the Armani Group. Since 2019 he has held the role of deputy managing director and global chief commercial officer.
Giorgio Armani just came off a high profile weekend in the U.S., receiving the Red Carpet Visionary Award at the WWD Style Awards in Los Angeles on Friday night. The award was accepted posthumously by George Clooney, a longtime Armani friend. Armani’s costume credits have exceeded 300, from famously suiting Richard Gere in “American Gigolo,” which helped propel the designer’s fame around the world, to providing the wardrobe for films ranging from “The Aviator,” “The Untouchables,” “The Dark Knight,” “Inglourious Basterds” and “Streets of Fire” to Martin Scorsese’s “Goodfellas,” “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Casino.”
Among the nominees, presenters and attendees wearing Giorgio Armani Privé to the Golden Globes Sunday night were Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Kristen Bell, Justine Lupe, and Ginnifer Goodwin. Male stars wearing Giorgio Armani included George Clooney, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn, Dax Shepard, Hudson Williams, Luke Grimes, Don Cheadle, and Sean Hayes, among others.
