Enfants Riches Déprimés is preparing to take the plunge into New York City retail.

The brand founded and designed by conceptual artist Henri Alexander Levy since 2012 will open a 5,900-square-foot store at 155 Franklin Street in TriBeCa in May.

The store, which will become the brand’s flagship, will join the company’s two other stores in Paris and Seoul. The Paris store, on Rue Charlot, is adjacent to another storefront that it operates, the Anti-Public Library vintage book and vinyl café. The Seoul store opened in May of 2025 in the Dosan district.

Even though Levy splits his time between Paris and Los Angeles, it’s New York where he will plant his flagship. “I’m choosing New York because New York is the only truly real historical and cultural hub in the United States,” he said. “I also see value in walkable cities.”

Although he has not yet revealed the design details of the New York store, it will be the first to showcase every facet of the brand — from furniture to couture, jewelry, tailoring, ready-to-wear and independent vinyl-printed matter.

“The goal for Enfants Riches Déprimés has always been about creating a complete world,” Levy said. “With the exception of very special wholesale retailers, it’s very important for me that my designs and lifetime pieces are housed in an environment that I designed as well.  My objective is to open more of my own stores in the future in cities that resonate with me for emotional reasons, not financial.”

Enfants Riches Déprimés currently has about 85 wholesale clients, including Maxfield, L’Eclaireur and Boon The Shop.

Over the past 14 years, Enfants Riches Déprimés has steadily evolved from a avant-garde cult label into a globally distributed luxury brand.
