Keen Footwear is expanding its open-air franchise with the Uneek 360, a new take on the brand’s woven Uneek silhouette that trades adhesives for a glue-free, four-piece construction held together with cords. Positioned as the brand’s first solvent-free shoe, the style extends Keen’s long-running Detox the Planet program into a fully modular build.
The Uneek 360 breaks down into a removable knit upper, an external cord cage, a drop-in footbed and a hybrid rubber-foam outsole. The engineered upper is made with recycled plastic bottles, while articulated cording “moves on multiple axes for a snug, comfortable fit that adapts to your foot,” according to the press release from Keen. The cords loop through the sole unit and lock with a toggle, so the components connect mechanically instead of being bonded with traditional adhesives.
The hybrid outsole combines rubber pods with foam cushioning in a pattern that mirrors earlier Uneek models, including the line’s rounded pods and flex grooves. The brand’s Eco Anti-Odor treatment uses natural probiotics in place of traditional antimicrobial chemicals, keeping the interior free of added pesticides.

“Uneek has always defied the status quo, completely disrupting how shoes are made,” said Blaine Conrad, vice president of product at Keen. “With Uneek 360, we took its iconic two-cord design even further, creating a modular design held together with cords instead of glue.” The brand said the shoe can be disassembled at the end of its life, with the knit, cords, footbed and sole separating cleanly to support circular end-of-life pathways.
The launch also extends Keen’s chemistry work: since starting its Detox the Planet program in 2014, the brand says it has invested more than 11,000 hours and $1.2 million to remove PFAS from its line, and after avoiding or removing five of six commonly flagged chemical classes, it’s now turning its attention to solvents used in footwear adhesives. The silhouette arrives as Keen scales American Built production in Kentucky and pushes its sustainability targets under Ann Radil, senior director of Keen Effect, who is focused on circular design and measuring the company’s emissions trajectory.
At launch, the Uneek 360 arrives in Black/Magnet and Vapor/Star White colorways, seen in campaign images that highlight the netted cord overlay wrapping the knit bootie and the contrasting bright insole. The Keen Uneek 360 launches in 2026 in men’s and women’s sizing through Keenfootwear.com and select retailers, with pricing set by the brand at $190 in the U.S.
