Priyanka Chopra Jonas is crashing the curl movement.
The 43-year-old actress arrived at Amazon Prime’s world premiere of “The Bluff” in Hollywood on Tuesday with drawn-out coils and cherry cola tips, an unusual choice for the veteran straight hair enthusiast.
Outside the TCL Chinese Theatre, Chopra Jonas posed next to her husband Nick Jonas, boasting mermaid waves from her roots down. Here, her natural, chocolate brown coloring was contrasted by the vibrant, cherry red hue on her ends.
While Chopra Jonas tapped hairstylist Irinel de León to craft her bombshell blowout for the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards in January, the on-screen star worked with Bridget Brager on her trendy, rock star hair for the Tuesday premiere. Her makeup — soft and subtle with a bold, brown and red lip — was the work of her close collaborator, Morgane Martini, the same artist responsible for her glowy Golden Globes visage.

Chopra Jonas’ decision to ditch her smooth, straight hair comes amid a wider affinity for natural curls consuming Hollywood now. Next-gen stars such as Odessa A’zion, Connor Storrie, Chase Infiniti and more incited the beauty shift late last year, boasting their own messy mops on the red carpet and beyond. The burgeoning aesthetic marks a departure from the run-of-the-mill Old Hollywood hair that’s dominated the carpet for years.
At “The Bluff” premiere, Chopra Jonas wasn’t the only star to trade a flat iron for frizz — 24-year-old actress Safia Oakley-Green did as well. A founding member of the curl movement, Oakley-Green’s thick coils were teased around her bare shoulders like a shawl. The aesthetic was likely imagined and brought to life by Oakley-Green herself, as her stylist Karen Clarkson has yet to credit the hair artist on her glam team.
