Bad Bunny appeared in Adidas‘ star-studded “Backyard Legends” World Cup ad, and the shoe he wore in a quick exchange with Lionel Messi has now been shown in full for the first time.
The Bad Bunny x Adidas F50 Ghost Sprint combines a mid-2000s soccer boot with a recently revived sprinting shoe from the same era. A webbed overlay covering the upper invokes the F50+ from 2005, while the thin grooved outsole carries over from the Ghost Sprint, a renamed version of the Ghost Ride Sprint track shoe that launched this month and has drawn comparisons to New Balance and Miu Miu’s 530 SL.
Three colorways are expected at launch, but just one has been seen on the feet of Bad Bunny and in a video from a reseller who obtained a pair early. “Dark Marine” puts a sky blue web atop a purple mesh base and a tonal blue outsole, and the unseen versions will reportedly make use of “Solar Slime” green and black.

Two sets of three protrusions subtly rep Adidas striping on the outsole, which becomes the most prominent form of branding on the F50 Ghost Sprint hybrid. The new upper does away with Three Stripes pressed into the Ghost Sprint’s suede upper, but “Bad Bunny Para Adidas” is printed onto the overlay near the lateral toe with an “+F50BB” badge appearing raised on the base directly beneath.
This newest addition to Bad Bunny’s Adidas hits two trends at once by joining the thin-soled craze and a smaller proliferation of football boots-turned sneakers. Benito also hit the latter trend last year with his Adiracer GT made in partnership with the Mercedes AMG Formula 1 team and the Ballerina, a retooled version of the Taekwondo.
The Bad Bunny x Adidas F50 Ghost Sprint will release July 18, the day prior to the World Cup Final. Expect to see the shoe on Adidas’ Confirmed app and at select third-party retailers for a price of $160.
