Each new season is a continuation of Ossou’s language, “but what we do think about evolving deeply is color, which is the core of our inspiration,” creative directors Nina Khosla and Talia Shuvalov said during a preview of resort. This season, the duo was inspired by nature, specifically the hues of moths, interiors and wood textures.
Their artful approach to denim felt fresh by treating different hues with multiple washes and tints to evoke a patina look, which played into how the camouflage hues of moths change in different lights. This came through a dusty, muted pink jean; cool wood-y laser-cut, yarn-dyed denim and waxed cotton styles. To round out the lineup, denim was styled with a new mix of cotton velvet layers, an evolution of ribbed knitwear (great little tops with exaggerated cowl necks), and strong outerwear, including a double-layered trenchcoat and cropped mac coats. Resort proved that with each season, Ossou’s evolution continues with strength.
