Gabby Thomas traded her running sneakers for gladiator sandals to attend the 2026 BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The three-time Olympic gold medalist and New Balance athlete showcased metallic sandals with a caged strap aesthetic echoing gladiator shoes of Ancient Rome. Her shoes put a twist on the enduring style with a metallic finish and a subtle reptilian pattern, merging several footwear trends in one. The set was boosted by a modest stiletto heel.
Thomas’ sandals went with a light blue short sleeve dress featuring small cut outs and ruching; a sweetheart neckline and high-low skirt were part of the design as well. Her accessories included a statement necklace with layers of chains and chunky jewels, while she modeled a long, pin-straight hairstyle.
