Michael Jordan’s most popular sneaker will serve as a tribute to one of the most important athletes of all time next year.
According to @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, the Air Jordan 4 Retro OG will adopt a new Jackie Robinson-inspired theme in 2026. Set to arrive appropriately on April 15 — exactly 80 years since Robinson broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier — the new style features a Brooklyn Dodgers-themed color palette which remixes the model’s original White Cement look.

Using a white leather base with splattered gray tech components, the Robinson-inspired colorway adds in Dodgers blue, which is expected to appear on the outsole, wing tips and at the heel. “Robinson” text appears on the inside of the tongue in place of the model’s usual Air Jordan branding, which seems to indicate that the sneaker will be officially licensed by the Jackie Robinson Estate, although that detail has yet to be confirmed. Also unique to the new colorway is Robinson’s jersey number, 42, on the heel of the right shoe, while the left shoe will don more traditional Nike Air branding.
In addition to the Air Jordan 4 sneaker, Jordan Brand will also release a Robinson-themed Air Jordan 4 MCS cleat featuring images of the legendary athlete on the heel.
Robinson made sports history in 1947 when he became the first Black athlete to play in the MLB’s modern era. Playing for the Dodgers at Brooklyn’s Ebbets Field, Robinson effectively ended more than five decades of segregation in the sport. Over the years, the baseball and social justice legend has frequently been featured on tribute footwear including Nike Dunks, Air Force 1s and various Ken Griffey Jr. models.
The Air Jordan 4 Retro OG Jackie Robinson will be released April 15, which is celebrated as Jackie Robinson Day, from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers for $230. The style code for the sneaker is JJ9189-101.
