Platform heels are having a moment at the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, with host Mariska Hargitay leading the trend. From satin to metallic styles, the dramatic footwear category is making a statement across a range of looks, which FN rounds up below.
Hargitay brought a bold head-to-toe red look to the red carpet ahead of taking on her hosting duties on stage. Her sequined gown was complemented by high-shine satin platform sandals from Stuart Weitzman featuring minimalist slender straps and a rounded toe; it was the brand’s Nudist style. Her dress featured a feathery skirt and train as well as a sweetheart neckline and an off-the-shoulder strap on one side.
Sarah Michelle Gellar paired the impactful pink hue of her silky dress with dramatic silver heels. She modeled Jimmy Choo‘s Max platforms, featuring an open toe, ankle strap and towering stiletto heel. Her dress was a high-neck garment with a draped low back and skirt slit.

Rachel Sennott opted for a monochrome pink moment, pairing platform sandals with a boudoir look. Elevated by a tapered block heel, her shoes appeared to be crafted from suede, with a minimalist upper consisting of a thin ankle strap and a thicker strap across the toes.
