Brunello Cucinelli continues to raise the bar.
The know-how and the technical abilities of the brand’s artisans stand out in the industry and, for spring, the level of craft was even more surprising.
Crochet may be one of the most traditional knitting techniques, but here it was elevated through the use of unusual materials, such as raffia or cane webbing, generally used on chairs and furniture. Not here, as it was seen forming a jacket or a wrap skirt.
Cucinelli said he was seeking “harmony in contrast,” reflected by the handmade knits juxtaposed with practical and roomy cotton jeans or shorts belying the mastery required to produce the collection.

Balloon or flared skirts, belted sleeveless safari jackets and cropped cargo pants contributed to the ease of the lineup. Cucinelli introduced a special shaping technique to mesh and honeycomb textures for structure — all in the season’s neutrals, from khaki and cardamom, to rope and ivory.
The appetite for Cucinelli’s designs has been strong, with company revenues rising 9.5 percent to 749.4 million euros in the first half. So far so good, and this collection is on the right track to further help the growth.
