It’s been a few years since Rihanna was spotted showing off the bright red sole of a Christian Louboutin shoe. The singer has been a fan of the brand since the start of her career, but as of late, she has been switching between Amina Muaddi and Saint Laurent whenever she steps out in heels.
That changed as she kicked off her Paris Fashion Week by attending the Matières Fécales spring 2027 show on Monday. For the appearance, the Fenty Beauty founder opted for an avant-garde pair of black patent leather heeled pumps with signature red soles from the Matières Fécales x Christian Louboutin fall 2025 collaboration.

The shoes follow a similar silhouette to the Miss Z pumps, featuring a sharp toe and low-cut vamp with an elongated pointed toe. Many of the shoes and boots from the collaboration are defined by a distinctly convex outline in the back. The towering heel and counter dramatically curve outward from top to bottom, shifting away from rigid traditional stilettos and giving the shoes a more artistic flair.
The partnership launched during Paris Fashion Week for Matières Fécales’ debut collection “The Other” by designers Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran. The shoes debuted on the runway in March 2025. Since then, other stars like Zendaya, Lady Gaga and Gabbriette have also adopted the collaboration.
Rihanna paired the glossy heels with a custom avant-garde gold tinsel fringe skirt suit. Underneath, she wore just a sheer bra and a gold herringbone necklace, with her wavy black hair styled in a soft and elegant updo.
Most recently, the “Love on the Brain” singer wore custom Christian Louboutin Lace Botta to the Met Gala after parties in 2025. She wore sandals from the French luxury footwear designer to her birthday dinner in February 2023, and has worn the shoes with her standout Met Gala looks over the years.
