MarediModa Cannes is set for Oct. 27 to 29 at the Palais des Festivals. This is the 24th edition of the event, following stops in Milan and Miami. The event will showcase 100 collections of fabrics and accessories for beachwear, underwear and athleisure for Summer 2028.

Organizers said this year’s edition offers an “even richer program, with ethics and environmental responsibility at its core.” The show will include various events and workshops, along with trend forecasting by David Shah. The venue will have an area dedicated to athleisure and there will be installations spotlighting studios specializing in exclusive prints and designs as well as contract manufacturers.

The show’s organizers said MarediModa Cannes is a must-attend annual event for the industry since its global overview “is truly unique, showcasing the very best of European textile manufacturing, the cornerstone of the exhibition since its debut.”

Claudio Taiana, president of MarediModa, said the event returns to Cannes “following our initiatives in Miami and Milan, confident that we have prepared the year’s key industry event to the highest possible standard.”

“Above all, we remain the leading international event for the premium segment,” Taiana said in a statement. “In a climate of widespread and profound uncertainty, MarediModa represents a safe harbor in terms of product quality, ethics, innovation and creativity.”

Regarding other, similarly formatted shows, Taiana was sardonic in his response. “Despite improvised attempts to imitate our format, for 24 years the Cannes show has remained the industry’s undisputed hub: where collections take shape, where professionals meet, where ideas and visions are shared, and, why not, where the industry continues to grow through new experiences,” he said.

In Cannes, MarediModa will present David Shah’s Spring/Summer 2028 trend-forecasting program for beachwear, bodywear and athleisure, each with five distinct fashion attitudes inspired by music and cultural subcultures. The program showcases creative directions such as “Ocean Vibes,” which organizers said aims to inspire community building and regeneration. The exhibitions will also highlight emerging lifestyles, colors and materials, alongside anticipated runway shows for young designer finalists from the talent-scouting project, The Link 2026.

As an official partner for the Cannes exhibition, The Lycra Company will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the bikini through its “Designed to Move. Built to Last” project with Carvico and Jersey Lomellina. The initiative includes a retrospective exhibition that traces the evolution of beachwear and a special opening-night show that combines live music, imagery and technology to demonstrate the durability of garments and innovation in textiles.

Featuring contributions from Lycra Xtra Life fiber, the showcase underscores the brand’s long-term commitment to quality, performance and sustainability in modern swimwear.
