Cardi B made a bold arrival at Balenciaga’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear fashion show in Los Angeles on Saturday, making her runway debut in a voluminous faux-fur coat.
The rapper’s ensemble included an off-the-shoulder number paired with a bustier pantabodysuit. She accessorized her winter-ready look with the brand’s Diamant chain necklace and Diamant typo ring, both from Balenciaga‘s limited-edition collaboration with Jacob & Co.
Cardi B worked with makeup artist Erika La Pearl, who had her red lipstick outlined in black liner, ultra-thin eyebrows and other gothic-inspired touches aligned with Balenciaga’s edgy aesthetic.
WWD reported the collection “was a send-up of L.A. wellness culture, with taut and toned models in leggings, shorts, sweats and 10XL sneakers, toting Erewhon bags, cell phones, water bottles and coffee cups as if they’d just been paparazzi snapped coming out of Barry’s Bootcamp.”
Cardi B is no stranger to the fashion world, as the rapper has attended a slew of fashion weeks and high-profile fashion events in avant-garde looks.
Her appearance at Paris Fashion Week in July saw her wearing a Schiaparelli wool tendril cape, a mesh headpiece and a shimmering gown with geometric crystallized overlay.
Along with Cardi B strutting down the runway, the fashion show included Ashley Graham, Nicole Kidman and Kim Kardashian in attendance.
Kardashian made waves on social media for accessorizing her Balenciaga look with an Erewhon paper bag filled with a bouquet of flowers. Cardi B appeared in her first Skims campaign in October, modeling the brand’s latest cotton fall-themed styles.
