Name: Ella Beatty
Age: 23
Résumé: Drama class Group 51 at Juilliard; “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.”
Why we care: Acting certainly runs in the family. Ella Beatty, who is the daughter of none other than Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, cut her teeth as a student in the drama division at the Juilliard School, graduating in 2022. She recently made her onscreen debut as another daughter, in Ryan Murphy’s new series “Feud: Truman vs. The Swans.” Ella Beatty stars in the period drama as Kerry O’Shea, who was the daughter of Truman Capote’s lover, John O’Shea.
Speaking with WWD on the red carpet during the premiere, Beatty highlighted the show themes that resonated with her most. “Kindness, friendship, loyalty, [and] chosen family at the end of the day can be what’s really important, and to respect and love those around you,” she said. She also credited the role of costumes in the show. “Lou [Eyrich], who does the costumes, is a genius, and as an actress it’s really helpful when you put something on and you imagine and you completely feel immersed in the person that you’re playing.”
For the show’s premiere and after party last week — which was a redux of Capote’s Black and White Ball at The Plaza hotel — Beatty donned a floor-length black velvet Ralph Lauren column gown, pairing the look with a pair of opera gloves.
While Beatty’s next role hasn’t yet been revealed, we’re excited to see more of her onscreen or onstage — or, perhaps, in a fashion week front row.
