As outgoing Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak delivered his farewell speech outside 10 Downing Street following Labour’s landslide election victory on Friday, his wife, Akshata Murty, chose an ensemble that paid tribute to heritage and sustainability.
The heiress, businesswoman and former fashion designer wore the Lina dress by Indian brand Ka-Sha. The dress featured hand appliqué and embroidery details, with a paneled design.
With its detailed embroidery and construction, it reflected a commitment to quality and heritage. Its vibrant hues, which reflected the United Kingdom’s national flag, had unique patterns and color blocking that brought a sense of warmth to the occasion.

Meanwhile, Sir Keir Starmer became U.K. prime minister on Friday following Labour’s victory in the polls. He was joined by his wife Victoria Starmer, who made her Downing Street debut in a midi dress by Me+Em in the Labour party’s signature red.
