Kilian Paris brought its latest fragrances to the Sunset Tower Hotel on Thursday night, gathering a group of Los Angeles personalities for cocktails and dinner overlooking the city.
Hosted by creator and podcaster Victoria Villarroel, the evening celebrated the launch of the fragrance house’s new Cocktails Collection as the brand looks to connect with a younger consumer.
The guest list was a mix of Villarroel’s friends and supporters of the brand, including Anastasia Karanikolaou, Iris Kendall, Aisha Potter, Ariel Tejada, Yris Palmer, Rickey Thompson and Alix Earle, who made an entrance midway through dinner.
Once guests were seated, Villarroel took the mic.

“This feels like my wedding or something,” she laughed, with her boyfriend, L.A.-based designer Doni Nahmias, among those at the table. “Thank you, everyone, for being here. I love seeing old faces, new faces. And we love a cocktail, all of us.”
The new fragrances riff on three different cocktails. Sparkling Royal, inspired by a Kir Royal, combines Moroccan mint, wild currant and roasted tonka bean, Piña Paraíso leans tropical with pineapple, coconut and vanilla bourbon, and Midnight Espresso mixes coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla bourbon. Priced at $150 for 75 ml., the trio offers a more accessible entry point into Kilian Paris, the perfume house founded by Kilian Hennessy in 2007 that is known for scents including Angels’ Share and Love, Don’t Be Shy.
The cocktail menu kept to the theme. Sparkling Royal paired crème de cassis with sparkling wine, Midnight Espresso took the form of an espresso martini and Piña Paraíso mixed pineapple juice, white rum and cream of coconut.
Villarroel asked for a show of hands from anyone who liked a drink — plenty went up.
“Tonight will be a night of memories and love and friendships,” she continued, encouraging everyone to “make a friend” and “get some new digits, get out of your comfort zone.”
