This week, celebrities cleverly matched their outfits to the occasions.
First, there was “method dressing,” then came “cosplay dressing.” For us normies, it’s been commonly referred to as “situational dressing.” But no matter the moniker, there’s a certain art to matching an outfit to the occasion at hand, something a few clever celebrities demonstrated this week.
In London, Zoe Saldaña paid homage to the British monarchy, while Emma Stone celebrated SNL in New York wearing her own gag. And over in Big Sky, Mt., Paris Hilton suited up in skiwear worthy of an Olympic gold-medalist. Hey, with the right wardrobe, anything’s possible.
Here, the five best-dressed celebrities this week.
-
Zoe Saldaña

Where: 2025 BAFTA Film Awards in London
Why: The “Emilia Pérez” actress did an homage to Tudor style in this bewitching column with a fanned-out lace portrait neckline. Not only did it frame her décolletage perfectly, but it also drew the eye toward her stunning diamond choker. It’s a little bit Queen Elizabeth I, a little bit Princess Di. Watch out Windsors, Saldaña’s coming for your throne.

Emma Stone

Where: SNL50: The Anniversary Special at Rockefeller Center in New York City
Why: When celebrating a milestone for SNL, why not bring comedy to your fashion? Emma Stone did exactly that in a scarlet red halter dress with cleverly draped pockets for stashing popcorn, showrunner Lorne Michaels’ favorite snack. It goes without saying, Stone ate (and all the crumbs she left behind showed it). One question remains, though: does her husband have extra butter?

Tyla
Image Credit: Michael Yarish/WBTV What: MM6 and Isabel Marant shoes
Where: On the set of the “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”
Why: Whether you’re a mechanic or a pop-singer, comfort is paramount when clocking in for work. And work Tyla did as Tuesday’s guest on Jennifer Hudson’s daytime television talkshow. The “Push 2 Start” singer gassed up her moto-inspired boiler suit by unzipping it to the navel, revealing a horn pendant and beaded choker that nodded to her African roots. The kicker? Throwback Isabel Marant wedge sneakers to bust a move in.
-
Paris Hilton
Image Credit: Courtesy of Rayna Wasserman What: Goldbergh
Where: At the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana.
Why: Paris Hilton never does anything half-way, so why should her birthday be any different? The heiress and mogul hit the slopes over the weekend in a hot pink ski suit with fur trim, coordinating pink sunglasses and a pink trapper hat. But she didn’t stop there: this Barbie comes complete with personalized luggage and a bouquet of balloons. We’d say “that’s hot,” but it’s clearly cold where she is.

Michelle Randolph
Image Credit: Getty Images for Paramount+ What: Vintage Maison Martin Margiela
Where: “1923” Season 2 Premiere in Los Angeles
Why: Eschewing folksier tropes like denim and plaid, the “1923” actress still echoed the television series’ Western theme with this slick archival gown from Martin Margiela’s spring 2008 collection. The avant-garde Belgian designer’s take on Americana is a delightfully unexpected choice, printed with a misty mountain scene and galavanting horses. Surely, it will impress fashion buffs and it makes us curious to see more from Randolph.
