Catherine Zeta-Jones paired sheer chiffon with shimmering beadwork in a Zuhair Murad gown with a matching sheer cape for the London premiere of “Kill Jackie” at Curzon Bloomsbury on Thursday night.
The Oscar-winning actress, who turned 57 years old on Friday, gave a styling lesson in how to artfully style sheer pieces. The actress wore a dress from the Lebanese designer’s resort 2027 collection, a pale lilac strapless dress with sheer chiffon fabric encrusted with a bevy of shimmering bugle beads. The embellishments were concentrated through the bodice and hips, thinning out along the skirt to reveal more of the sheer fabric underneath.
Sequins and small gemstones trimmed the sweetheart neckline of the dress, which was paired with a sheer cape that cascaded down Zeta-Jones’ shoulders and added an extra layer to her red carpet ensemble.

With the dress already providing a healthy dose of sparkle, Zeta-Jones opted to go minimalist with her jewelry and accessories. She wore her dark hair styled in soft waves and makeup including smoky eyes and a glossy lip.
The dress was a refined variation on sheer dressing from women over 50, a stark contrast to the boudoir-inspired sheer looks that have recently been sported by the likes of Dakota Johnson and Daisy Edgar-Jones, both of whom have worn sheer dresses with visible lingerie, including pieces by Shushu Tong, Colleen Allen and Fleur du Mal.
“Zuhair Murad was seeking a softer, more relaxed version of his glamour girl this season,” Rhonda Richford wrote in WWD’s review of the couturier’s resort 2027 collection, which debuted as part of Paris resort week in June 2026.
“Inspired by waves in the sea, the collection replaced heavily structured eveningwear with fluid jersey dresses, airy chiffon, sculptural draping and lots of tailored separates,” Richford wrote.
“While Murad’s signature beadwork remained, it appeared with a lighter hand. Clean-cut gabardine gowns, streamlined jacquards and monochromatic looks reflected simpler styles that clients increasingly want.”
Zeta-Jones stars in “Kill Jackie,” which follows the titular character, a former cocaine dealer turned art dealer, whose peaceful life is interrupted when an elite group of hitmen are sent to kill her. The series arrives Oct. 2 on Prime Video and AMC+.
