Since 1995, Bette Midler has held her annual Hulaween Party, a benefit event for the New York Restoration Project. The organization cares for community gardens and parks citywide. This year, Midler held her annual charitable Halloween party in New York City on Friday, with a guest roster that ranged from legendary music producer Clive Davis to “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars.
This year’s theme was “Once Upon a Hulaween: Scarytales & Deadtime Stories.” All of the guests arrived in costume splendor, with looks ranging from Snow White to Catwoman. Here, WWD takes a closer look at some of the outfits from the Halloween party.
Chloe Bailey
Chloe Bailey wore a Catwoman-inspired look for her costume. Her all-black look included black leather thigh-high boots, superhero eye-mask-inspired sunglasses, a black latex bodysuit with clear cutout sections and a high neckline. Bailey performed at the event alongside the legendary Dionne Warwick.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos paid tribute to his Mexican heritage dressing as figures associated with Dias de los Muertos, also known as the Day of the Dead. In addition to their skull-inspired face paint, Consuelos wore a black gold floral embroidered bolero jacket with a white gold embroidered shirt and black trousers, while Ripa wore a rose headpiece, a black latex corset top with a sheer neckline and sleeves and a rainbow ruffle tiered skirt.
Padma Lakshmi
Padma Lakshmi took a break from sharing her food expertise with her fans to dress up as the Wolf from “Little Red Riding Hood.” Rather than putting fashion pieces together, she donned a true wolf’s costume complete with ears, a tail and a full faux fur bodysuit. She finished her look with a red cape and had her makeup done to create an animalistic eye silhouette and to make her nose look more canine-like to channel the full wolf effect.
Dylan Mulvaney
Dylan Mulvaney came dressed as the title character from “Snow White.” The social media star wore a velvet blue corset dress with a red bow at the waist and a yellow pleated tulle skirt. She completed her look with a red bow, bright red ankle-strap heels, a red scarf and a matching clutch bag.
Thorgy Thor
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum Thorgy Thor took the Hulaween party as a chance to seemingly audition for the next “Pirates of the Caribbean” film. The entertainer came dressed as a zombie pirate, with a gray and black embroidered pirate’s hat, a black brocade jacket, pinstripe pants and black leather thigh-high boots. Thor completed her look with gray zombie makeup and a gray locs wig. She served as a red carpet correspondent for this year’s event.
Clive Davis
Acclaimed music producer Clive Davis attended Bette Midler’s Hulaween party dressed in one of his classic business attire ensembles but donned a cape.
Jordan Roth
Jordan Roth dressed as the Evil Queen from “Snow White” with a huge white statement collar, a gold crown in the shape of fire, and an elaborate gown with burgundy sleeves and a gold skirt embroidered with images of Snow White and the seven dwarves.
Our Lady J
Our Lady J also channeled the Evil Queen for Halloween, wearing a crown, asymmetrical red dress, red rope belt, black platform heels, statement earrings and an evening bag in the shape of an apple.
