To attend the premiere of “The History of Sound,” the singer selected a pearlescent dress featuring shiny sequins embellishing a mesh fabric. The garment featured a high halter neckline and was gathered at the waist for a fitted look before descending into a flowy skirt with a train (perhaps modest enough to pass muster with the updated Cannes Film Festival dress code banning excessively large trains). The dress introduced a new material and an extra sense of movement with long feathery fringe along the edge of the skirt.

As for her footwear, Ciara went with a pair of platform sandals with a simple silhouette including a rounded toe, an hourglass-shaped toe strap, a slender buckled ankle strap and a towering stiletto heel. The shoes were crafted with a satiny fabric in a chocolate brown hue, which served as a neutral base for her ensemble.

The 2025 Cannes Film Festival has thus far seen a wide range of outfits on the red carpet, from the rule-breaking to the understated. Heidi Klum showcased a pink Elie Saab gown with a large train for the opening ceremony, and subsequently wore a silver sequined dress from the same brand for the premiere of “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning.” In addition to Klum, jury member Halle Berry has displayed a slew of looks, including a voluminous pink and black dress from Celia Kritharioti for the “Mission Impossible” premiere and a colorful floral Chanel suit for the premiere of “The Phoenician Scheme.”
