Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber made the 2023 National Book Awards on Wednesday a mother-daughter date, looking to brand Ralph Lauren for their looks.
Gerber put neutral tones on winter dressing in a brown strapless dress with a leather black band, while Crawford kept things classic in a sharp white three-piece power suit.
Gerber’s look, which was styled in collaboration with Danielle Goldberg, was from the brand’s fall 2001 ready-to-wear collection.
The pair also made an appearance at the Planet Omega fashion reception and cocktail on Wednesday. The duo matched in all black, with Crawford wearing a plunging maxi dress and Gerber going flirty in a long-sleeve minidress with a pleated skirt.
Crawford and Kaia Gerber are both brand ambassadors for the luxury watch company which Crawford has represented since 1995, making her Omega’s longest-serving brand ambassador.
Gerber, who made her runway debut at Raf Simons’ Calvin Klein fashion show at 16 years old, has also modeled for Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Alexander Wang, Prada, Chanel, Fendi, Miu Miu and more.
Organized by the National Book Foundation, the National Book Awards honors the best and brightest authors and literary titles across a range of poetry, fiction, nonfiction and other genres.
Since its inception in 1950 the event has distributed awards to Ta-Nehisi Coates, William Faulkner, Toni Morrison, and other notable authors. Hosted by “Reading Rainbow” host LeVar Burton, this year’s awards included Raquel Willis, Emma Roberts and Kerry Washington in attendance.
