Clove is partnering with Land O’Lakes to tap into the butter yellow trend and give back with a limited-edition collaborative sneaker launching on Tuesday.
The footwear brand known for creating shoes for health care workers and the dairy product company are presenting pale yellow as en vogue for fall, with a sneaker inspired by Land O’Lakes butter. The sneakers showcase textural design elements and the brand’s initial on the side, a C with a line above it, which is medical shorthand for “with,” making the brand name mean “with love.”
“We are so excited to collaborate with Clove Shoes and take a moment to celebrate the color of the moment, but also our everyday favorite, butter yellow,” said Heather Anfang, president of Land O’Lakes Dairy Foods, in a statement. “As a company who shares our values of community, hard work and comfort, we are thrilled for the launch of their shoe but also for our shared donation to those in need in an important area for our two brands in Philadelphia.”

The collaboration also includes donations of 88 sneakers and $15,000 of butter (about 3,744 pounds) to Philabundance, one of Philadelphia’s largest food banks, to help offer comfort to frontline workers and families who spend a significant amount of time on their feet. Clove is based in Philadelphia and many Land O’Lakes farmer-members live in the region. Additionally, Land O’Lakes is sponsoring a community event on Oct. 11 with City Girls Who Walk, a grassroots movement and New York City social walking group created by fitness influencer Brianna Joye Kohn.
“Clove footwear is rooted in the belief that when people feel good, they can care for others,” said Jordyn Amoroso, cofounder and chief brand officer of Clove, in a statement. “Partnering with Land O’Lakes lets us bring that philosophy to life in a flavorful new way.”
The color of the shoes is one that’s been quite popular in the fashion industry lately. From Amal Clooney wearing a Balmain dress in Venice to Pamela Anderson going for a preppy look in London, the airy light yellow look has made itself known this summer. Beyond fashion, it’s even proven trendy in the home decor space.
Clove was launched in 2019 with the aim of providing shoes that meet the needs of health care workers; founder Joe Ammon was inspired by his wife Tamara, a nurse who needed shoes to support her during long shifts. The Clove Classic is the company’s debut sneaker, created with no-tie laces and Clarino vegan leather, which is fluid-repellent. The brand has also released five new colorways of its Forte sneaker, which is made with the trademarked Supercush Comfort System. Additional shoe styles offered by the brand include the Clove Strada, Clove Alto, Recovery Slide and SuperBoot.
Meanwhile, collaborations bridging fashion and food aren’t hard to come by these days. Crocs, for example, counts many food-related names among its many collaborators, from Krispy Kreme to McDonald’s to Taco Bell.
