Competing in “Dancing With the Stars” isn’t the only gig that Anna Delvey has signed up for.

Born Anna Sorokin in Russia and raised in Germany, she was dubbed the “fake heiress” after being arrested in 2017 and found guilty of eight charges, including attempted grand larceny in the first degree and theft of services. Delvey had posed as a well-connected affluent German heiress and scammed more than $275,000 in white-chip indulgences like private jet services and luxury hotel stays.

After being released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody more than three years ago, the 33-year-old had been placed under house confinement last year. Her rise and fall was the subject of the Netflix series “Inventing Anna.” Delvey, whose court attire of major designer labels and fast fashion attracted a lot of attention, has always been unabashed about her appreciation for fashion.

Now she will be walking the runway at the Shao New York show on Sept. 10. Delvey already has a hand in the New York-based designer’s company, since the pop-up Outlaw Agency that she formed with People’s Revolution’s founder Kelly Cutrone hosted last fall’s Shao show. Still under house arrest at that time, Delvey held Shao Yang’s first runway show on the rooftop of her East Village apartment.

During the current installment of New York Fashion Week, Shao New York will be among the fashion shows that will be held at the Altman Building, thanks to the Outlaw Agency and Pornhub. Private Policy New York and Untitled&Co. are the other shows on the calendar. All three have picked up backstage support from Ted Gibson, Kabuki NYC, MAC Cosmetics and Patti Yankee. Delvey’s “DWTS” partner Esra Soza will hit the catwalk for Untitled&Co.

Next week Delvey has also signed up to be part of a panel discussion with Stormy Daniels, Nimay Ndolo and Elizabeth Nolan Brown titled “Digital Futures: Safety, Privacy, and Expression Online.” Daniels, a porn actor, testified against former President Donald Trump in his hush money trial earlier this year. Ndolo is a software developer and content creator and Brown is a senior editor at Reason magazine. Their Terms of Service-presented discussion with Delvey will be recorded live at NeueHouse Madison Square for the second season of the podcast Terms of Service.

In an interview with WWD in June, Delvey said she was trying to move away from the fake heiress narrative and highlight what has happened since she was released from criminal custody. Delvey has fronted Shao New York in other ways, having worn bespoke designs from Yang for court appearances last summer. In June, Delvey and the designer created an Italian silk and wool blend double-breasted dress with a pussy bow. Her ankle monitor was customized with a Swarovski crystal letter “A” (as in “Anna” and “Ankle,” as well as a wink at Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “The Scarlet Letter”). The custom $2,950 frock and the $495 bow were available for preorder, at the time. And the matching pussy bow was priced at $495. A $2,050 version with a $195 pussy bow was also made with more affordable fabrics.

Delvey told WWD in June, “The outfits that we choose are very court appropriate. I don’t show up looking like an exotic dancer. I don’t think women should be seen as shallow and attention-seeking just for picking nice clothes.”
