Denny’s is celebrating National Maple Syrup Day on Dec. 17 with the release of Sticky Kicks, limited-edition sneakers merging streetwear and diner culture. And they happen to be the first sneakers created with real Denny’s syrup — don’t eat it, though.
The sneakers were created in collaboration with footwear artist and designer Mache, who customizes sneakers for star athletes and celebrities and earned a place on FN’s 2025 Sneaker Power List. Every pair of the sneakers includes a clear panel with actual Denny’s syrup inside, though an official press release cautions: “Do not puncture the shoes or eat the syrup from the shoes for any reason. These drips are for style only, so leave it that way.”
Additional design elements include syrup-hued patent leather, tumbled yellow sections, and the Denny’s logo embossed on the heel. The shoes, priced at $195, will be available in adult men’s sizes 8 to 13 and will be released on Dec. 17 at noon EST exclusively on dinerdrip.com. Denny’s Rewards members will get first access to the shoes with a special code that unlocks the site, allowing them to place an order an hour ahead of everyone else.

For the long-standing diner chain, syrup is something intrinsic to the brand identity.
“Sticky Kicks are impractical, unnecessary, and completely over the top, which is exactly why we love them,” said Ellie Doty, senior vice president and chief brand officer at Denny’s, in a statement. “At Denny’s, syrup isn’t just something we serve. It’s part of who we are. It’s our golden thread. So, it only makes sense we’d be the first to turn it into fashion.”
“Creating Sticky Kicks is just the right amount of crazy and weird for me and my team, and we’ve loved every second of it,” said Dan Gamache, better known as Mache, in a statement. “Though it had its sticky moments, creating the ultimate collector’s shoe is something I’m so proud of.”
