Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union modeled their tastes in coastal dressing while in Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday at The Cut x Intuition by Aramis Dinner, respectively wearing clogs and minimalist heels. Wade is serving as the face and global ambassador for the new fragrance Intuition by Aramis.
Wade’s blush pink pants and button-down ensemble were complemented by a pair of Birkenstock clogs. He wore the brand’s Birki Flow style in a neutral off-white hue called eggshell. Featuring a Birkenstock EVA footbed, the shoe is described by the company as its “first post-sport recovery clog” — seemingly an apt choice for the former professional basketball player. The design includes vents along the side and an adjustable backstrap with a buckle.
This shoe appears to align with a footwear fashion preference recently expressed by the retired NBA star. When Wade accompanied Jenna Bush Hager and Zanna Roberts Rassi on “Jenna and Friends” on the “Today” show recently, he emphasized that he wasn’t into the toe-baring flip-flop trend that’s now been showcased on the red carpet, with Jonathan Bailey wearing a pair by The Row for a “Jurassic World Rebirth” photo call.

“That’s not my thing. I can’t do that,” Wade said. “My toes can’t be out like that.”
Meanwhile, at the event in Edgartown, Mass., Union paired her silky patterned dress with a pair of minimalist brown sandals, which made a statement with a square toe and a heel that flared into a pyramid-like bottom. The shoes featured a simple hourglass-shaped strap across the toes, leaving the top of the foot mostly exposed with a barely there look — a popular trend in women’s dress shoes.
Martha’s Vineyard isn’t the only East Coast beach destination the couple stopped by this week. On Thursday, Wade and Union hosted a dinner in East Hampton for the Saks on Amazon partnership.
